オープンインテリジェンスラボは、実務と研究、教員と学生、文系と理系、さらには学術・文化・アートといった既成の枠にとらわれず、社会課題を超学際的に検討する思考の実験場として位置付けています。
本ラボでは、社会課題そのものを所与の前提とせず、「何を課題とすべきか」を問い直すことから出発します。
私たちは、歴史の中で多くの叡智を獲得してきました。しかし、その叡智を継承するだけでなく、私たちの進歩の歴史や思考の枠組みそのものが本当に正しかったのかを再検証する必要があります。
生成AIの出現は、単なる産業構造の変化に留まらず、民主主義や資本主義といった近代社会の根源的価値観を再考させる契機となっています。
今日、大学で学ぶことの意義、特に文系学問の存在意義に懐疑的な見解が広がる背景には、学問と実務の断絶があると感じています。
私は、研究者・教育者・実務家として、これまでの人類の叡智を批判的に継承し、それを社会に浸透させることで、人々の真の豊かさを取り戻す可能性を信じています。
私は自らが「実務家教員」であり「異端の研究者」であると自覚しています。
しかし、異端であるがゆえに、閉じた学問体系や制度的制約を超え、新しい知の形を社会へ還元できるのではないか――そうした想いのもと、学問の枠にとらわれない学際的な研究を続けています。
従来、経営学の分析対象である「経営」という現象は、人を最小単位としてきました。
しかし、社会学・脳神経科学・行動遺伝学・複雑系科学といった分野横断的な知見を統合することで、単なる行動の観察を超え、欲求・価値観・環境・構造・脳・遺伝的特性といった多層的要因から現象を高解像度で分析し、理論モデル化することが可能になります。
この試みは、経営の成否に対する説明力を飛躍的に高め得るものであり、確かな実務的示唆を得つつあります。当然のことながら、あくまで現時点では仮説であり、再現可能性の確認が出来ていない以上、私の個人的な成果に過ぎません。
もし、さまざまな学問分野で人類の叡智が融合したとしたら――そのような未来を想像するとき、私は強い好奇心と希望を感じます。
この「Open Intelligence Lab」という名称には、知を開き、統合し、社会へ還流させ、世界をより良い未来へ導くという私自身の信念が込められています。
The Open Intelligence Lab is conceived as an intellectual laboratory of ideas that transcends conventional boundaries—between practice and research, faculty and students, the humanities and sciences, and even between academia, culture, and the arts.
Rather than taking social issues as predetermined givens, this lab begins by reexamining a more fundamental question: what should we regard as the problem itself?
Throughout history, humanity has accumulated immense wisdom. Yet it is not enough to merely inherit that wisdom; we must also reexamine whether the trajectory of our progress—and the very frameworks of thought that have guided it—have truly been correct.
The emergence of generative AI is not simply an industrial transformation; it presents an opportunity to reconsider the foundational values of modern civilization, including democracy and capitalism.
Today, skepticism about the value of university education—especially in the humanities—reflects, in part, a growing disconnect between scholarship and practice.
As a researcher, educator, and practitioner, I seek to critically inherit humanity’s accumulated wisdom and to reintegrate it into society, in the belief that doing so can restore a deeper sense of human richness and fulfillment.
I recognize myself as both a practitioner-scholar and an unorthodox researcher.
Precisely because of this unorthodoxy, I believe it is possible to transcend the confines of established academic systems and institutional structures, and to return new forms of knowledge to society. Guided by this conviction, I continue to pursue interdisciplinary research unbound by conventional academic divisions.
Traditionally, the field of management has taken the individual as its smallest unit of analysis.
However, by integrating insights from sociology, neuroscience, behavioral genetics, and complexity science, it becomes possible to move beyond surface-level behavioral observation—to analyze phenomena at high resolution through the multilayered lenses of desire, values, environment, structure, neural activity, and genetic traits—and to develop corresponding theoretical models.
This approach has begun to yield practical insights that significantly enhance our ability to explain managerial success and failure. While these remain hypotheses pending reproducibility, they nonetheless point toward meaningful possibilities.
If, one day, the collective wisdom of humanity could be fully integrated across disciplines, that vision of the future would ignite both curiosity and hope.
The name Open Intelligence Lab embodies my belief in opening, integrating, and circulating knowledge—guiding it toward a brighter and more humane future.
